Nick The Greek Set to Reopen at Ward Parkway Mall After Six-Month Hiatus

Kansas City, MO — After nearly half a year of closure, Nick The Greek will reopen its doors at 8807 State Line Road on Monday, May 13th, bringing fresh energy and flavor back to Ward Parkway Mall. The State Line location is the first of three stores set to relaunch, with the Lee's Summit and Olathe locations following in the weeks ahead.

The franchise, known for its gyros, souvlaki, and Greek street food staples, closed down all three Kansas City metro locations on November 6th, 2024. The official signs on the doors read that the stores were closed for renovation—but the deeper story reveals a personal transformation behind the scenes.

Owner Arthur Gilbreath III says the last six months have been about more than equipment repairs and facility upgrades. “This wasn’t just about fixing fryers or patching walls,” Gilbreath shared. “This was about rebuilding from the inside out. I had to get my heart right, too.”

Gilbreath, who owns all three franchise locations independently, has spent the months not only overseeing maintenance and kitchen repairs, but also going through a deeply personal season of reflection, growth, and recommitment to his purpose as an entrepreneur and leader.

With new staff, renewed energy, and a sharpened vision, Gilbreath says he's ready to bring something better than before to Kansas City diners. “We’re not just reopening a store. We’re reopening a story.”
